So, judging from the title, you must be thinking, “Shirley bought herself an $80 water bottle!? She is crazy!” And, I get it — it does sound super crazy and unnecessary. However, I did it for a good reason. That reason being: my mental health. And now you’re probably rolling your eyes, which is completely understandable, because my boyfriend did + thought the same thing when I told him of my purchase…
but, allow me to explain!
Way back when, I briefly mentioned crystals in my post about how and why one should make their own personal altar/sacred space. I went into great detail about the benefits of daily reflection + meditation. I did not, however, go into detail about the benefits of crystals and the roles they play in my life (and possibly yours, too, if crystals are something you’re interested in).
With that being said, in recent months, I have become very interested in self-care, meditating, reflecting, the seven chakras, and healing crystals. I have done so much research, because I have always been fascinated with and intrigued by all of what mindfulness entails and how we, as imperfect human beings, can reach a level of self-awareness and peacefulness, through ‘activities’ that are oftentimes overlooked or misconstrued.
At this point, you’re probably dying to know how this $80 water bottle has anything to do mindfulness, self-love, and my mental health. What it all boils down to is me finally taking initiative and finding various ways to balance out my Chakras, especially the ones I know I need to work on.
you: Chakras? Huh? What?!
me: Yes — Chakras. Allow me to explain, sis 😘😘
Believe it or not, we don’t only just have our physical body and a soul. We also have what is referred to as an ‘energy body.’ An energy body, which is literally the energy levels that make-up who we are, consists of the 7 chakras. The 7 chakras are what make up the energy levels. Does that make sense? It may help to think of it as a sandwich —
the seven chakras → your energetic system/make up → your physical self/body (skin, bones, etc.)
The seven (7) chakras are what make up our energetic system (or house). Meaning that we are the way that we are based on how our chakras as being tended to/treated. Each of the seven chakras has a specific location and “job.” Not only that, but they are also super in-touch with our thoughts, emotions, experiences, and feelings.
All in all, the chakras tie together our mind, our body, and our spirit. Super dope, right? I know!
So, what are the 7 chakras? Good question! Here they are —
guys, I think I’m obsessed with making my own gifs, lol
I will make a separate post that will go into full detail of each of the 7 chakras along with what they do and whatnot. I was going to do it in this post, but decided to just give you all enough detail so you know what the heck I’m even talking about and then focus on what the water bottle represents and does!
that said, my water bottle‘s crystal is the rose quartz
And no, I didn’t pink the rose quartz because pink is my favorite color. I picked the rose quartz because of what it represents and what I want and need more of in my life —
- loving relationships
- continuous compassion
- peace of mind
- the ability to genuinely forgive and let go
to love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance | oscar wilde
The stone, being a part of the Heart Chakra, represents universal and unconditional love. Not only that, but —
“Love is what we all need more of, and rose quartz stone is here to give it to us. Holding Rose Quartz stones helps to heal all aspects of the heart. This stone emits strong vibrations of love. It’s a powerful ally when you want to attract a new relationship, love yourself more, or heal from past hurts. By tapping into the energy of the divine feminine, the Rose Quartz properties will restore faith, compassion, harmony, and balance in all matters of the heart.
Simply by unblocking the energy clogs in your heart chakra, rose quartz properties will open you up to others. Rose quartz meaning is all about making you more approachable through brightening your aura with love and understanding. The love you seek will show up first in yourself, and then you will begin to recognize it all around you. It allows you to see that you are deserving of your own forgiveness and understanding, just as you can be compassionate toward and forgive those around you. ” | energy muse
With all of that being said, allow me to explain how this water bottle will positively affect me and allow me to tend to my heart chakra in such a way that I begin seeing the positive changes and differences that I so badly want (and need). First and foremost, having the water bottle does instantaneously make me less stressed, more calm, and full of self-love. I wish that were the case, but unfortunately, it’s not.
However, having the water bottle allows me to —
- carry it with me
- meditate with it when I have it placed on my personal altar/sacred space
- have my water bottle be a constant reminder as to what it is I want for myself
- hold it close to me as I recite the Rose Quartz’s positive affirmation:
I am worthy and deserving of love in my life and I am able to give and receive love and affection with ease
the bottle comes apart in several pieces for easy cleaning, but here is the bottle separated into two individual pieces. isn’t the rose quartz absolutely beautuful!?
i love, love, love, love, love my water bottle!
Worried about buying your water bottle and not using it because you think you’ll break it within seconds of opening the package? Yeah, I know the feeling. And, apparently, so does Free People, because they include a black neoprene water bottle holder, so that you can worry less about breaking your bottle and more about aligning all of your chakras!
Oh! I almost forgot — if you don’t want to spend $80 on a water bottle, but feel you connect with all of what the rose quartz stands for, here are some other cool rose quartz products to consider purchasing:
There you have it, ladies! That is why I purchased an $80 water bottle and I would hands-down do it all over again. If you have any questions, please let me know! I realize that I threw a lot of information at you all, so please feel free to ask away. And let me know if you also study crystals or have a water bottle like mine — I’d love to see it.
Thanks for reading! And, as always, love to you all.
